Paul D. Phillips

Paul D. Phillips, 97, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021. He was the husband of the late Mary E. Phillips who passed away on November 6, 2018; they shared 71 years of marriage together. Paul was born July 26, 1923 in Middletown, MD to the late George Hamilton and Nancy Emma (Woodruff) Phillips. Paul worked at Lyon Metal in York for 30 + years and later retired from AMP, after 5 years of service. He was a longtime member of Grace Bible Church. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and watching the Orioles. Paul loved spending time with his wife and family most of all. He is survived by his five children Dennie K. Phillips and his wife Leslie, Carol A. Stafford and her husband Steve, Tom E. Phillips, Mindy B. Callahan and her husband Kevin, and Paula J. Putnam and her husband Rodney; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 7 siblings. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Grace Bible Church, 18 W. Main St. New Freedom, PA. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, February 5th at the church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom is assisting the family with services.
