Paul Joseph Theisz (Theisz)

Father Paul J. Theisz, 69, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. Viewings will be held Wednesday, October 25 from 5 to 6:45 p.m. with a Vigil Service to begin at 7 p.m. and Thursday, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom. The Funeral Liturgy will begin 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26 with The Most Reverand Ronald W. Gainer, Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born July 22, 1948 in New York City, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Caroline C. (Cifarelli) Theisz. Father Theisz was a member of the Harrisburg Diocese and served in several different parishes until his retirement in 2017. He received his Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving 17 years . He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Father Theisz is survived by two sisters, Antoinette "Toni" Theisz of Summerville, SC and Regina M. A. Trochez of Boonton, NJ; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Anthony John Theisz. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to a favorite charity.
