Paula A. Gast

Paula A. Gast, 73, passed from this life on Saturday, April 8, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late William L. Gast who passed in September of 2017. She was born in Hanover, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rita (Goudreault) Topper.

Paula was the epitome of a caregiver - selfless, caring, loving and kind.  She enjoyed being a homemaker with a warm home and armed with delicious chocolate chip cookies, apple pies, and craveable stuffing.  Paula balanced a husband who worked shift work, four children, their schedules and their friends.  She was faithful, humble, patient and strove to see the beauty in everything.  Paula had a smile that made you feel welcomed and valued.  As a friend of the family said, " There was a calm serenity that, no matter how crazy things were in my life, all that just disappeared around her." She was love.

Surviving are three children, Kelly Krumpe (Bill), James Gast, and Sean Gast; 2 grandchildren, Donovan and Alayna Krumpe; and 6 siblings, Violet Best, Helen Horne (Carl), Anthony Topper (Cindy), Patrick Topper (companion, Jane Stickles), Michelle Kirk (Harry), and Suzette Topper. She was preceded in death by a son, William A. Gast and a sister, Mary Topper.

There will be a visitation from 2-3 p.m. on Friday, April 28, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S.
