Rev. Dr. Peggy Horne, 77, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019. Born in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Bailey, Sr. and Rosalyn (VanHorn) Bailey Coleman. She was a minister and theologian that dedicated her life to pastoral counseling, religious studies, and Native American spiritual practices. Peggy majored in Theology and Religious Studies for two years in Paris, France and she majored in Psychology and Fine Arts at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Later, Dr. Horne received her Doctoral degree from the Southern California Seminary. She loved helping individuals by providing uplifting advice and guidance to enhance their spiritual lives. Her motto was… “Think Positive, Be Positive.” Rev. Dr. Peggy lived in Columbia, Md., later moving and living in various places in the Southwestern United States: California, Arizona, Nevada, etc. She finally moved here to Pennsylvania to be with family in 2012. Surviving are three children, Allyson R. Jackson, Jeffri P. Wainwright and her husband Clyde, and Richard Marc Reginald Jackson and his former wife Marcia; two grandsons, Nicholas O. Jackson and Richard Marc Reginald Jackson,III; a sister, Lisa C. Perkins-Hill and her husband, Jimmie; nieces and nephews, Jesseca Perkins-Broady, Desmond and Rainy, Amber and Daniel Bailey and their families; and many other cousins, including those in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Washington D.C. area. She will be greatly missed by all her friends everywhere.She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles H. Bailey, Jr. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Life Celebration Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main Street, Stewartstown, PA 17363. The family will visit and receive condolences following the service.
