Peggy W. Ratsch

Peggy W. Ratsch, 72, died Friday, March 18, 2016, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Henry B. Ratsch, with whom she had celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on February 6, 2016. Viewings will be held from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, from the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. The service will begin at 12 noon Wednesday, March 23, from Stewartstown Presbyterian Church, 14 College Ave., Stewartstown, with the Rev. Andrew G. Wirt and Pastor Don Warner officiating. Burial will follow the service in Highview Memorial Gardens, Fallston, Md. Born October 9, 1943, in Baltimore, Md., Peggy was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Priscilla (Harris) Wilson. Peggy received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Towson State University. She later received her Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from Johns Hopkins University. She retired from the Baltimore County School District as an administrator. She was previously a grade school teacher for the district and was instrumental in integrating computers into the classrooms. Peggy also taught Instructional Technology to teachers. Peggy was a member of the Maryland State Education Association and of Stewartstown Presbyterian Church . In addition to her husband, Henry, she is survived by two sons, Steven H. Ratsch of Joppa, Md., and James D. Ratsch and his wife, Jackie of Gambrills, Md.; two grandchildren, Joseph H. and Kaitlin E. Ratsch; a sister, Nina Lee Johnson of Street, Md.; and a brother, John M.
