Perry Dale Thompson, 87, of New Park, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024. He was the loving husband of Gloria Jean (Brown) Thompson; he just celebrated 65 years of marriage with the love of his life.
Born in Fawn Twp., PA, to the late Charles Henry Thompson, Jr., and Molly Angeline (Eaton) Thompson.
Dale was a graduate of Millersville University, where he received his master’s degree in education. He retired after 20 years of service as a Chief Petty Officer for the U.S. Navy and 21 years as an Industrial Arts Teacher in Harford County. Dale was a proud member of Centre Presbyterian Church, holding various positions. He also taught Sunday School and helped with bible school.
He was very honored and proud to have served in the US Navy, and loved sharing stories of his time in the service and all the places he was blessed to have traveled to and experienced.
He was a master craftsman; sharing his beautiful work with both family and friends and even on occasion selling his creations at local craft fairs or donating them to the church.
Dale loved his family and friends most of all, though was most happy when surrounded by his fur babies. You could always count on finding at least two of them snuggled up on a blanket in his lap. They were a continuous source of love and comfort to him as well as Gloria.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lori (Thompson) Jones and her husband Nigel A.; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Jones and his wife Sandy Lu, Maegan (Jones) Connolly and her husband Patrick, Andrew Thompson, Jacob Thompson, and his wife Maddie; daughter-in-law Suzanne Thompson; brother Roger Thompson and his wife Cordie; nephew Steven Thompson (Kristine) and niece Jenny Rebert (Chad) and family.
