Philip A. Owens

Philip A. Owens, 54, of Shrewsbury, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023. Born in California, he was the son of Gene R. Owens and Carol A. (Hoefler) Owens.

Phil was very passionate about music. His favorite band was U2. Phil loved dungeons and dragons and was a Game of Thrones fan. He spent time in Colorado, where he enjoyed doing outdoor activities, such as bike riding and hiking. He was very curious in his life. Phil had a quick wit and sharp humor, and a deep love for chess. Family was very important to Phil, he loved his kids, and caring for his parents.

In addition to his parents, Phil is survived by his beloved wife, Erika L. Serrell; his 3 children Brandon, Jordan, and Deanna; and his brother Daniel.

A public viewing will be held Monday, June 26 from 6-8pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349. Interment will take place Wednesday, June 28 at 2pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity of your choice on Phil’s behalf.
