R. Evelyn Mccormick

Ruth Evelyn McCormick, 106, Shrewsbury PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home on Sprenkle Drive in York.

Evelyn was born on April 29, 1918, the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (McCullough) Wantland.  Evelyn was the wife of the late Clayton McCormick and the late Charles I. Lentz. She was a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury and was employed at the Shrewsbury Sewing Factory.  Evelyn was also employed by Barbara Egan Nursing Home, retiring in 1983 after 18 years of service.  Evelyn had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was predeceased by her son, Charles L. Lentz, who passed away on May 17, 2024.  Evelyn was the sister of the late Harold Wantland (Vada).

Evelyn was a lifelong member of the (former) Grace United Methodist Church in Shrewsbury.

A graveside service will be held at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Shrewsbury on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 10 AM, officiated by Pastor Aaron Cope.
