Rae Frances 'Fran' Crispin

d. October 3, 2024

On October 3, 2024, Rae Frances Waddell Crispin, a loving mother and doting Nana, passed away after a courageous battle with bladder cancer and Alzheimer's to join her late husband, Forrest Crispin, to become one of our angels.

Born on December 18th, 1946, Rae, who many knew as Fran, was born to Raymond and Virginia Waddell in Baltimore, Maryland.

Fran spent her free time heavily involved in the 4-H program. She was a longtime member of the Baltimore County Chestnut Ridge 4-H Club and a volunteer for the Carroll County 4-H Program, as well as the Leader of Wesley 4-H Club. Fran enjoyed sharing with anyone who would listen about all her years of volunteering and running the Carroll County Cake Auction. She was a devoted member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed gatherings with her Franklin High School classmates and fellow Red Hatters.

Fran enjoyed camping with her late husband and their two furry friends, Sandy and Sailor. Fran and Forrest spent most of their time camping in Gettysburg or beaching in Myrtle Beach. They enjoyed taking any of their grandkids along with them any chance they got. She was extremely witty and made jokes whenever she could and loved to laugh.  She always remembered to add the butter knife at holiday dinners.

Fran was predeceased in death by her father, Raymond Waddell, her mother, Virginia Waddell, husband, Forrest Crispin, and brother, Wayne Waddell. She is survived by her brother, Forris Waddell and sister-in-law Gladys, sister, Dixie Waddell Colgan and brother-in-law Hugh, and sister, Eva Waddell. Daughters, Candi Crispin (Danny Bacon), Jenni Moore (Michael Moore), Bonni Nelson (Michael Nelson), her grandchildren, Michael Moore, Jr., Marcus Moore, Casey Nelson, Jessica Nelson, Grahm Bacon, and Travis Nelson, and great grandson, Carter Vaught, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Donations are welcome and should be sent to Wesley United Methodist Church at 3239 Carrollton Rd, Hampstead, MD 21074.  A memorial service will be planned for the Spring of 2025. Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. of New Freedom is assisting the family with the arrangements. HartensteinCares.com
