Ray R. Bintrim , 82, of New Freedom, PA, died on March 6, 2018, at SpiriTrust Shrewsbury after a short illness. Mr. Bintrim was born in Ellwood City, PA, the second child of the late Lewis and Lulu (Ray) Bintrim. He attended Thiel College in Greenville, PA, and later received his master’s degree from Loyola University in Baltimore. He worked as an electrical engineer for Westinghouse and United Defense Lp. After retiring, he drove for Penn-Mar Human Services. An avid reader and trivia buff, he loved to travel, solve crosswords and other puzzles, and root for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Orioles. He also was active in the Democratic Party of York County (PA). Mr. Bintrim is survived by his wife, Doris A. (Weaver) Bintrim; his daughters, Katherine A. (Bintrim) Marx and Elizabeth J. Bintrim; his grandchildren, Andrew and Emily Marx; his nephews, Mark Bintrim, Matthew Bintrim, and Donald Gould; and his niece, Louise Gould. He is predeceased by his brother, Carl Bintrim, and his sister, Lois (Bintrim) Gould. Following cremation a visitation will be held from10 to 11 am.with aFuneral Liturgy beginning 11 am, Tuesday, March 13, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave, New Freedom. The service will be officiated by Rev. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
