Raymond E. Dulik, Jr., 57, of York, formerly of New Freedom, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020. Born in Harrisburg on Christmas Day, 1962, Ray, as he liked to be called, was the son of Raymond E. Dulik, Sr. and Dolores (Shook) Dulik of New Freedom. Ray had worked at Martin Marietta of Middle River, Md., as well as for the former Mirada Manufacturing of Westminster, Md. Ray was an avid hunter; he loved to cook, the outdoors, music, playing Frisbee, and four-wheeling in West Virginia on the Hatfield-McCoy Trails with his friends. Ray had an opportunity to be a stay-at-home dad to his two girls, Amanda and Jessica, so he made the transition from full-time employee to focusing on raising his children. Later in life, he moved in with his parents at their home in New Freedom. On June 11, 2017, Ray had a debilitating right-side stroke whileout biking. He spent time in rehab at WellSpan Rehabilitation - Apple Hill Medical Center, but he needed more care than he would have had at home, so he entered ManorCare Health Services-York North where he resided for three years. His death was a direct result of COVID-19. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving in addition to his parents and his two daughters are two grandchildren; two sisters, Deanne Garver and her husband, Eric, and Donna Johnston and her husband, Allen; and nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Services and interment are private and at the convenience of his family. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Ray’s memory to the American Stroke Association at www2.heart.org.
