Richard H. Cherry

Richard H. Cherry, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021. He was the loving husband of Glenda (Hollingshead) Cherry and they celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 10, 2020. Born in Reedsville, he was the son of the late Edward H. and Ellen Irene (Krepps) Cherry. Richard was a roofer with Heidler Roofing for many years and he had worked at Graham Architectural Products in York. He was a deacon at Miracle Tabernacle Church, York; he enjoyed reading the Bible, gospel music, and picking fruit. Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and dearly loved his family. Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Teressa Hansford and her husband, Richard of York, Stephen R. Cherry of Thomasville, Maryann Cherry of York, and Tammy Swanson and her husband, Gary of Springfield Twp.; and 5 grandchildren, Zachary Hansford, Joshua Swanson, Emily Swanson, Josie Yoder, and Justin Swanson. There will be a public graveside honoring Richard’s life at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 16, at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York, PA17402.
