Dave Propst, 83, passed from this life on Saturday, December 3, 2022. He was the loving husband of Glenda (Simmons) Propst and they celebrated twenty-nine years of marriage on Valentine’s Day of this year. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Wesley and Hilda (Bolkin) Propst.
Surviving in addition to his beloved wife are five children, Gretchen Propst and her companion, Kemp Ensor, Crystal Gerst and her spouse, Joe, Keith Marchiano and his spouse, Beth, Tammy O’Neill, and Heather Blades and her spouse, John; eight grandchildren, Nancy Bunker, Kathy Frei, Cheyenne Shoemaker, Abby Blades, Dawson O’Neill, Emma Marchiano, Joshua Marchiano, and Kaytlin O’Neill; six great grandchildren, Aiden Bunker, Mya Frei, Reagan Frei, Kylee Shoemaker, Brooke Bunker, and Jaxson Shoemaker. Dave was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
There will be a public viewing on Saturday, December 10, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2 nd Street, New Freedom, PA 17349 and on Sunday, December 11, from 12 - 1 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with Reverend Melissa A. McDade officiating. Dave will be laid to rest at Wiseburg Cemetery immediately following the service.
