Richard J. Gerner, Jr., 45, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. He was born on September 24, 1979, in Philadelphia, to Richard J. Gerner, Sr. and Donna M. (Kohler) Gerner. Richard was the loving husband to Chrystal (Bosley) Gerner.
Richie had an extremely funny and witty personality. He was the life of the party, and you could always count on him being inappropriately funny. Richie was a car mechanic and loved driving fast in his WRX who he referred to as “Big Booty Judy”. He spent most of his career in Nuclear Security as a firearms instructor for Exelon at Three Mile Island.
Richie enjoyed many, many genres of music, watching horror films, and skateboarding. When he was younger, he was a sponsored skateboarder and raced BMX bikes. He enjoyed watching all Philadelphia sports teams play. Richie was a history buff and above all was a hard-working man who loved his family and spending time with them especially around his favorite holiday, Thanksgiving.
Richie is remembered by his wife, Chrystal; two sons, Richard D. Gerner and John R. Gerner; sister, Shannon Gerner and her partner Kirk Skillman; parents, Richard and Donna; niece, Giana Grosso; nephew, Anthony Grosso; father-in-law, Dave Bosley; mother-in-law, Karen Lake and her husband Glenn Dallmeyer; brother-in-law, Neo Dallmeyer; and his dog Maggie.
