Richard D. Seitz, Sr.

Richard Duane Seitz, Sr., 87, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024. He was the husband to Blanche M. (Flaharty) Seitz for 65 years. Born in Norrisville, MD, he was a son to the late Charles Everett “Bill” and Edna I. (Myers) Seitz. Richard was a veteran of the Army, enlisted from 1955 to 1957. Richard was the former owner and operator of Richard D. Seitz Trucking in Red Lion, PA before his retirement in 2003. Richard was an active member of the Stewartstown, PA community. He was a member of the Stewartstown VFW Post #7046, the Moose Lodge General Assembly since 1976, the Eureka Volunteer Fire Company and Ambulance Club, as well as AARP. He was also a previous member of the Stewartstown American Legion Post #455. Richard loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed feeding his squirrels and talking about trucks, he would say “If it don’t shine, it ain’t mine”. Richard is remembered by his wife Blanche; two children, Richard D. Seitz, Jr. and his wife Francina of Felton, PA, and Todd A. Seitz and his wife Shirley of Stewartstown, PA; four grandchildren, Kelly Shaulis (Jakob), Charity Seitz, Jessica Grim (Corey), and Justin Seitz (Courtney); four great-grandchildren, Blake, Colton, Liam, and Stella. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Norman and Paul Seitz. Family and friends are invited to a public viewing at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363 Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 10 AM – 12 PM.. A funeral service will begin at 12 Noon and the funeral home.
