Rich W. Standiford

Richard “Rich” W. Standiford, 78, of Shrewsbury, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 29, 2023. Born in Maryland Line, MD, he was the son of the late Wilfred M. and Ruth M. (Wirtz) Standiford.

Rich was a hard-working man. He owned his own painting company, and he opened a construction company with his cousin, Dan Benshoof. Rich loved to be outside, and even liked mowing lawns. He collected antique tools and played ping pong in a league. Rich loved spending time with his family. Rich was especially proud of his grandchildren.  He tried his best to never miss a sporting event. He was a 1962 graduate of Hereford High School. He was a member of Grace Church Shrewsbury.

Rich is survived by his wife Sharon L. (Jacoby) Standiford; his 2 children, Kristi Anders (Neil) and Jill Laughman (Jeb); his 4 grandchildren, Haylee Bailey (Lucas), Lyndee Anders, Rylee Laughman, and Colby Laughman; and 2 sisters, Charlotte Adkins, and Norma Nash (Donald). He was preceded in death by 3 infant brothers, in addition to his parents.

A public visitation will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 10-11am at Grace Church Shrewsbury 473 Plank Rd, New Freedom, PA 17349. A celebration of life will begin at 11am at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
