Robert H. Joines

Robert H. Joines, 90, passed away on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023. Born in Red Pump, Maryland in 1933 to the late Reid E. and Lura (Walker) Joines. Bob was the loving husband of Shirley L. (Miller) Joines of whom he would have celebrated 69 years of marriage in May. Bob worked in the construction industry for 50 years and was a member of the local Carpenters Union #191. He was a devoted Christian and lifelong member of Turnpike Baptist Church. Bob loved to garden and enjoyed growing both flowers and vegetables. He loved to hunt and fish and would visit his cabin in Lycoming County, where he could be close to nature. Bob loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, but more than anything else, enjoyed his time with Shirley, the love of his life. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; dear siblings, Betty Swift, Charlotte Amspacher (Bill), Shirley Dixon, Marcie Conrad (Barry), Dollie Hill, Clarence ‘Duke’ Joines (Brenda) and John Joines (Linda); he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Joines, Edward Joines, Hort Joines, Marvin Joines, David Joines, Mabel Joines, and Virginia Miller; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA, 17363 on Saturday, April 15th, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Chester Joines, with interment immediately following in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
