Robert 'Bob' G. Campbell

Robert G. ‘Bob’ Campbell, 72, of New Freedom, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 12, 2023, at his residence. Born in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Samuel Martin Campbell Jr. and Sheila Patricia (Sheppard) Campbell. He was the loving partner of fifteen years to Loretta I. Conner.

Robert was an avid hobbyist. He was an artist, modeler, gardener, bird watcher, fisherman, coach, art teacher, Civil War historian, Gettysburg tour guide, dog lover and woodworker.  He loved sports especially the Orioles and Ravens. In his retirement years he spent most of his time working on his flowerbeds, veggie gardens, building models and watching the O’s. Bob was a good friend to all and a great father and proud grandfather.

Surviving are three children, Samuel R. Campbell and his wife, Amy of Pasadena, Md., Nicholas M. Campbell and his wife, Janelle of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and Dana M. Mazur and her husband, Pete of Cockeysville, Md.; three stepchildren, Ted Conner and his wife, Denise of Pasadena, Md., Kenneth Conner and his wife, Amanda of Lakeland, FL, and Alan Conner of New Freedom; four grandchildren, Allison Meirick, Ryan Caines, Rori Campbell, and Chase Campbell; and one great grandchild, Cooper Meirick; three siblings, Raymond Campbell and his wife, Teresa of Perry Hall, Md., Malcolm Campbell and his wife, Carol of Reisterstown, Md., Trish East and her husband, Tim of Jarrettsville, Md.; and a sister-in-law, Carol Campbell. Bob was preceded in death by a sibling, William Campbell.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 23, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, PA 17349 with a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment is private and at the convenience of the family.
