Roberta Ann Lacy (Mccahan)

Roberta Ann Lacy, 85, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late Edward Russell Lacy who died in May of 1980.Born in Linthicum, MD, she was the daughter of the late Fred L. Biggs and Hazel Birdie (Cook) McCahan Biggs. Roberta was an Executive Secretary in the banking industry, working for Commercial & Farmers Bank in Ellicott City, MD, for over 25 years.She was an avid duck pin bowler, enjoyed needlepoint, was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Freedom, and the congregation’s “Back Row Crew”. She loved playing cards with her SpiriTrust friends and neighbors. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who was loved by all who knew her. Surviving are three children, Sean T. Lacy, and his wife Debbie of Finksburg, MD, Colleen L. Rice, and her husband Rick of Stewartstown, and Padraic E. Lacy, and his wife Cheryl Powers of Westminster, MD; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Mentzell of Annapolis, MD; and several nieces and nephews. Roberta was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lynda A. Thomson, brothers Lawrence E. and William R. McCahan, and a sister-in-law, Ann McCahan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, with a funeral service beginning at 7 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband on Wednesday morning, March 28, in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roberta’s memory to: St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 25, New Freedom, PA 17349.
