Roderick (Rick) Wayne Wylie

Roderick (Rick) Wayne Wylie, age 72 of Yulee, FL, passed away while visiting family in PA on Sunday, December 11, 2022. Rick was born on December 1, 1950 to David and Catherine Wylie of White Sulphur Springs, WV. Rick went on to West Virginia University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Accounting and was a four-year letterman in Golf. Afterwards, he resided in Baltimore and Harford County, MD from 1972-2001. He was employed by Arthur Anderson & Co., in Baltimore, MD upon graduation as a CPA. Later moving into CFO positions with Health Insurance providers, serving on Nonprofit boards, and later purchasing Pedersen Golf Company. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling to play golf, and coaching his children’s softball and baseball teams.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by nephew, Brian Wylie, brother-in-law, Lloyd (L.B.) Fowler, and father-in-law, Edward G. Smith. Rick is survived by his wife, Janet, of 52 years; daughter, Sherri Wylie, of Abingdon, MD, and son, Barry Wylie (Angie) of Scotch Plains, NJ; brother, Michael Wylie (Denise) of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and sister, Teresa Wylie Fowler, of White Sulphur Springs, WV; sister-in-law, Ada Smith Swingler-Burley (James) of New Freedom, PA; brother-in-law, George Smith (Rhonda) of White Sulphur Springs, WV; mother-in-law, Erlene Smith Fogus of New Freedom, PA; 3 beloved grandchildren, Amelia, Sonoma, and Delton of Scotch Plains, NJ; 12 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews. Rick was loved by his family and will be missed.

There will be a Celebration of Life in White Sulphur Springs, WV, and in the MD/PA area for family and friends (dates to be determined). A special Thank You to the caregivers in Yulee, FL,  for their special care of Rick. The family appreciates your prayers and understanding during this exceedingly difficult time.
