Roland E. Burk, 80, died Thursday, November 19, 2015, at ManorCare Health Services, Dallastown. He was the loving husband of Norma V. (Whipperman) Burk, who died in 2013. A viewing will be held at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2015. A funeral service begin at 12 noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the New Freedom Cemetery. A resident of York, Roland was born in Sweet Air, Md., a son of the late Daniel and Ethel (Brown) Burk. He served in the U.S. Air Force during peacetime following the Korean War and later went on to work for Shaull's Masonry in York for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting. Surviving are his son, Michael E. Burk and his wife, Debbie of Stewartstown; three grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Burk, Catherine Nicole Burk, and Samantha Rose Burk; four siblings, Phyllis Null of Littlestown, Ethel Cedrone of Baltimore, Md., Gloria Raffensburger, wife of Clair of White Hall, Md., and Dennis Burk of Seven Valleys. Roland was preceded in death by two brothers, Karl and Wallace Burk.
