Ronald Roger Baker, 79, passed away on April 5, 2021. He was the loving husband of 36 years to Dianne (Edwards) Baker who passed away in 2011.Ron was born on May 5, 1941 to Allen Clay and Cleda Lucille (Folk) Baker at home in Grantsville, MD. In 1959 he graduated from Northern Garrett High School in Accident, MD and went on to graduate from the Maryland Barber School and H.A.C.C. Auctioneering School. He was a barber for 13 years and then became a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight for 30 years before retiring in 2002. Ron was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Parkton, MD and an avid football fan of Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers. After his retirement, he drove a shuttle bus for York College and he loved to collect antique toys. Ron is survived by his children, Lisa Walker Sears and her husband, Donald, of Cockeysville, MD, Scott Baker and his wife, Kristie of Nikomis, FL, and Jennifer Gabinet of Bel Air, MD; and 4 grandchildren, Asheley, Abbey, Jackson, and Dillon. Ron was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew Walker, brothers, James Baker and David Baker, and his sister, Bonnie Bowman. A public viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 9 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 20440 Downes Road, Parkton, MD.21120. A church service will begin at 12 Noon. Interment is at the convenience of his family. Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing when in attendance.
