Roy G. Erdman, 76, of Stewartstown, PA passed away Monday, April 1, 2024. He was the loving husband of Rebeccah (Handy) Erdman. Born September 12, 1947, in York, PA. Roy was the son of the late Blanche (Erdman) Lackey and Logan Lackey.

Roy was a lifelong trucker and drove truck for Medusa Cement Company, Preston Trucking Company, and Consolidated Freightways before retiring.

Roy loved his family and they meant everything to him. He loved family functions such as Erdman reunions, Berwick reunions, yearly Erdman Christmas parties, bi-weekly card playing with family, yearly fishing trips to Chincoteague, VA with his two brothers and son-in-law. Roy loved to camp in Assateague, MD & Chincoteague, VA in his Winnebago camper. He enjoyed flounder fishing, crabbing, and clamming in his pontoon boat with his family. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife Rebeccah, cruising to the Caribbean & Bahamas, going to the casino, and watching Nascar & football on the weekends.

In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by his daughters, Robin J. Stike and husband Richard A. of Stewartstown, PA, Ronda L. Hastings and husband Davy J. of York; son Troy J. Erdman of Red Lion, PA; Chris P. Hoffman and wife Ashley of Dover, PA; Matthew L. Hoffman and wife Jamie L. of York, PA. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Roy is also survived by his brothers, Glenn E. Erdman and wife Leila M. of Dallastown, PA, Richard (Pete) B. Erdman and wife Kathy of Dover, PA; and sisters Louise J. Stallard of York, PA and Audrey B. McKinsey and her husband George of Dover, PA. He is also survived by twenty nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister Lois J. Harvison.

A public viewing will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service in celebration of Roy’s life will start at 1 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Kim E. Erdman officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 14874 Winterstown Rd., Stewartstown, PA 17363.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Roy’s memory may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 984 Loucks Rd., Suite 1, York, PA 17404.
