Russell A. Frew Sr. passed unexpectedly from this life on Monday, February 19, 2024. He was born in Harford County, Maryland, a son of the late Thomas L. and Florence M. (Timmons) Frew. Russell went into the Army on August 29, 1958 and was discharged August of 1961. He lived a Christian life, first baptized Methodist and, later in life, was baptized Baptist. Russell had retired from Consolidated Freightways and was a member of the Teamsters Local #557. His hobbies included watching NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Sr. was his favorite, horse racing, he was an avid Ravens fan, and enjoyed travelling and fishing.
Surviving is a son, Russell A. Frew Jr. and his fiancée, Jackie Markley; a granddaughter, Rachel Frew; his former wife, Lizzie (Chavis) Frew; two brothers, Barney Frew and his spouse, BJ, and Richard Frew and his spouse, Pat; and three sisters, Nancy Angert, Debbie Preston and her spouse, Gene, and Patty Robbins and her spouse, Dave. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Stanly Frew and a sister, Jean Keelly.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a visitation from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main Street, Stewartstown, PA 17363 with a service beginning at 12 p.m. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens, 5598 Trumps Mill Road, Baltimore, MD 21206.
