Russell R. Hann, Jr., 79, of Parkton, MD passed away Monday, April 1, 2024. Born August 5, 1944, in Hanover, PA, he was the son to the late Russell R. Hann Sr., and Marylou (nee Stallknecht) Hann.
Russell graduated with the class of 1962 from Hereford High School and joined the United States Army shortly after. He was a proud veteran, serving in the Vietnam War and the Army Reserves for four years after his tour. He retired from Lafarge North America (Formerly Harry T. Campbell and Sons) after working for them for 39 years. Russell was a lifetime member of the New Freedom VFW Post 7012 as well as the NRA. He was passionate about working on cars, watching NASCAR, turkey hunting, fishing and vegetable gardening. Russell’s biggest passion was riding his motorcycle all over the country, hitting all 50 states, and parts of Canada.
Russell is survived by two sons, Russell B. Hann and his companion Raelynn Mallein, and Timothy E. Hann and wife Tina; five grandchildren, Andrew R. Hann, Nathaniel E. Hann, Sierra Flanscha, Savannah Flanscha, and Selina Flanscha; and sister, Patricia Hann. He was preceded in death by his wife, Andra Dilworth; son, Andrew S. Hann; and sister, Janine Ruby.
A public viewing will take place Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 10 AM – 12 PM at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349. A funeral service will start at 12 PM following the viewing at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Parkton, MD.
