Ruth Elizabeth Gentry

On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, Ruth E. (Krout) Gentry, 89, of York passed away at Manor Care-North.She was the beloved wife of John Gentry.Ruth was born on October 11, 1930 in Sparks, MD to the late Frank and Annie (Young) Krout.She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Dillman and husband Mike, Sr.; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Alice Rainey and John Krout.She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, George and Glen Krout. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 21 from 10am until a funeral service begins at 12pm at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., PO Box 96, New Freedom, PA 17349.Interment will follow in Stabler's Cemetery, Parkton, MD.Rev. Melissa A. McDade will officiate.In lieu of flowers, donations are recommended to the funeral home, at the PO Box above, to help offset funeral expenses.
