Ruth V. Jones

On Sunday, October 13, 2019, Ruth V. (Hale) Jones, 92, passed away in her residence in Shrewsbury.Ruth was born on January 14, 1927 in Baltimore, MD to the late Samuel J. and Fern (Schultz) Hale. She graduated from Dundalk High School in Dundalk, MD then worked for the Baltimore County Public Schools, where she was a secretary in the music department for over 40 years before retiring.Ruth was a member of the South Central York County Senior Center.In her spare time, she enjoyed all phases of life, especially listening to music, Wii Bowling, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Nina Brown and husband Wilbur, and Gail A. Shaw and husband Jonathan; five grandchildren, Brandon Szyman and wife Natalie, Ian Szyman, Sarah Snoots and husband T. R., Shannon Williams, Stacy Rosado and husband Ben; and eleven great-grandchildren, Kyle, Makayla, Taylor, Payton, Christopher, Ashley, Rachel, Anna, Joshua, Alyssa, and Ava.She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Nicole Frederick. Public visitation will be held on Friday, October 18 from 10am until a funeral service begins at 11am at SpiriTrust Lutheran-Shrewsbury Zimmerman Place Gathering Room, 800 Bollinger Drive, Shrewsbury, PA 17361.Rev. Aaron Cope will officiate.Interment is private.Memorial contributions in Ruth’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (York Unit), 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
