Ruth A. Schuman, 100, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late Lloyd W. Schuman. Born in Freeland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah Ellen (Jones) Holloway. She had worked as a seamstress for various sewing factories in the area. A faithful member of Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church, Glen Rock, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and crocheting. Ruth was a member of Goldenrod Council #24 Daughters of America, holding various offices over the years. She loved spending time with her family. She had a special artistic ability when it came to creating something from fabric. Surviving are two children, Nancy Mosella of York, and Darlene Young, and her husband Steve of Lexington, SC; two grandsons, Alex and Andrew Young; 3 great grandchildren, Eliza, Tyrus, and Ronan Young; and a brother, John Holloway of Timonium, MD. She was preceded in death by siblings Milford, Clyde, Vernon, and Kenneth Holloway, and Cora Jones. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a viewing from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, and on Saturday, March 31, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. There will be a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the New Freedom Cemetery.
