Ruth Virginia Weaver

Ruth Virginia Weaver, age 97, passed away on May 29, 2022 in York, PA. Ruth was born on March 7, 1925 in Sparks, Maryland to the late Alexander and Hester Ensor. She was the loving wife of 49 years to the late Albert F. “Bud” Weaver. Ruth was a resident of Parkton, Maryland for more than 40 years and was a lifelong member of Bentley Springs United Methodist Church. Ruth was employed at Black & Decker, in Hampstead, Maryland, as a Machine Operator for 37 years, until her retirement in 1983. After retirement, in 1998 Ruth went on to work for Hardee’s/Wendy’s in Shrewsbury. In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed gardening and yard work and loved to dance. She was hard working and loved her family. Ruth is survived by her loving grandchildren, Laura Nielsen (Carl) and Kevin Weaver (Mindy); 4 great grandchildren, Hunter Weaver, Sierra Weaver, Alek Nielsen, and Jakeb Nielsen; her dear brother, John Ensor of White Hall, MD; she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. “Bud” Weaver; her only child, LeRoy Weaver; siblings, Mary McCann, Dorothy Miller, Abram Ensor, Daniel Ensor, Raymond Ensor, Charles Ensor, and Paul Ensor; and special friend, Robert Decker. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 2nd, from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349. A graveside service will begin at 12:30 pm, in Pine Grove Cemetery, 19401 Middletown Rd., Parkton, MD 21120.
