S. Kenneth Ness

S. Kenneth Ness, 89, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018. He was the loving husband of Stella M. (Tharp) Ness and they celebrated 67 years of marriage in September 2018. He was the son of the late Harry E. and Ruth E. (Dehoff) Ness. A graduate of Dallastown High School, Class of 1948, Kenneth was the owner/operator of S. Kenneth Ness Mason Contractor, New Freedom. He was a member and Past President of the Shrewsbury Lions Club. Surviving in addition to his wife, Stella, are two children, Kenneth E. Ness, and his wife Bonnie of Jefferson, and David B. Ness, and his wife Karen of Dallastown; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; and 1 great great grandson. Kenneth was preceded in death by five younger siblings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a viewing from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, with a funeral service starting at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
