Sharon P. Lumpkin, 69, of New Freedom passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in her home. She was the wife of Lester E. Lumpkin to whom she married September 22, 1966 and celebrated 52 years of marriage together. Born in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Mabel V. (Dolly) Schuler. Sharon attended St. Clement’s grade school in Baltimore and graduated from Overlea High School as a member of the class of 1967. She worked at the former Shrewsbury K-Mart for many years and was a teller with Citizens Bank and Sovereign Bank both in Shrewsbury. Sharon was an EMT with Rose Fire Company and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom. She enjoyed caring for her pets, genealogy, photography, gardening, cooking, crocheting and caring for her flowers. Sharon was a collector of angels and loved birds and butterflies and family was the center of her life. In addition to her husband Lester, she will be remembered with love by her daughters Michele L. Ayersand Rachel A., wife of Robert A. Harris, Jr. all of Glen Rock; four grandchildren Brittany Harris and fiancé Chris Hatcher, Lisa Marie Hicks, Christopher Harris and girlfriend Ashley Potocki, Robin Harris; one great-grandchild Sawyer Harris. Sharon was preceded in death by a daughter Dawn Marie Lumpkin and a sister Charlene Walsch. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 at 3PM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care Inc, 24 N. Second St. New Freedom with Rev. Benjamin J. Dunkelberger officiating. Interment will be private. Viewings will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3-6PM and on Monday from 2PM until the time of her service.
