Shirley Ann Clement, 78, of Monkton, MD passed away on October 29, 2017. She was married 46 years to the late Frederick Varney Clement. Originally from Parkton, MD she was the daughter of the late John W. and Marian P. (Spicer) McClanahan. Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Hereford High School and a retiree of AAI. She is survived by her two children Amy Delphia Clement of Washington DC and Matthew Paul Clement of Monkton, MD. Shirley was a proud grandmother to Taylor Clement, Lauren Clement, Katherine Dikland-Clement and Elizabeth Dikland-Clement. She is also survived by nieces Lynn McGarity and Joyce Raivel. Shirley was preceded in death by her sister Carole McClanahan/Murphy and two brothers Albert and Melvin McClanahan. She lived life to the fullest, whether it be taking road trips with her best friend Jinny Smith, attending auctions, dealing antiques at Serendipity in Shrewsbury, or beating her children at cards, she knew how to have fun and brightened the lives of all she touched. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at 10AM at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA 17349 with interment to follow at Wiseburg Cemetery, White Hall, MD. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, November 2nd from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
