Shirley B. Metzger

Shirley B. Metzger, 85, of Freeland, MD passed away January 26, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late John A. Metzger. Born February 15, 1936 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late William G. Bond and Edna May (Houck) Bond. Shirley worked at the True Value Hardware Store in New Freedom for more than 30 years before retiring. She was a member of the Parkton American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 256 for 30 years. Shirley is survived by 2 daughters Susan Lee Metzger and companion Mark Harford, and Jane Lee Metzger and wife Angel Metzger; 2 grandchildren Noah T. Humes and wife Diane, and Elizabeth S. Dustin; 3 great grandchildren Calleigh E. Humes, Emma Dustin, and Elena Dustin; and two Goddaughters Theresa Hall and Mary Schmidt. A viewing will be held Thursday, February 3rd, 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc. 24 N. 2nd St. New Freedom, PA 17349. A service will occur the following day, Friday, February 4th at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
