On Friday, April 13, 2018, Shirley M. (McDonough) Nash, 72, passed away in Parkton, MD.She was the wife of the late Frederick W. Nash, Sr.Shirley was born July 31, 1945 in Baltimore to the late Maxine B. (Osborne) and John H. McDonough, Sr. In her spare time, she enjoyed going on road trips, especially through the mountains.She enjoyed her flowers, mainly roses, lavender and lilacs.She enjoyed spending hours shopping at Wal-Mart, playing electronic word games and catching up with friends on Facebook.Her passion was her family though.She loved cooking big holiday dinners and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving her are two sons, Frederick Nash, Jr. and wife Sue, Michael Nash and wife Paula; 7 grandchildren, Sasha, Cody, Frederick, III, Lisa, Christopher, Ashley and Michael; 3 great-grandchildren, William, Christian and Brandon; 3 siblings, Donna Flowers, John McDonough and Debra Buttion; brother-in-law, Arthur Nash and wife Lyndia. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Marty Nash; and siblings, Linda Cox and Mark McDonough. Public viewing will be from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm on Wednesday, April 18 at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 19 at 10am.Because of the distance between the funeral home and cemetery, there will be no formal funeral procession, however, immediately following the funeral service, those who wish to attend the interment may meet at Holy Cross Cemetery, 6020 Ritchie Hwy., Brooklyn, MD 21225.
