Stanley Ray Jackson, 78, of Stewartstown, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019. He was the beloved companion of 39 years of the late Mary C. Glass who was the love of his life. Born in Cockeysville, MD, Stan was the son of the late Frank Edward and Mary Jane (Haga) Jackson.He had worked as a carpenter in the construction business for many years.He had also worked twenty-nine years at Robbins Realty and fifteen years at Brooks Management, both in Maryland. He loved playing music and in the 70’s and early 80’s, he was the lead singer forthe band he played in which was Scarlett Sunrise. Stan enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, the Ravens, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. He will lovingly be remembered by his nephew, Robert E. Smith, Sr., and his wife Dee, of Stewartstown; granddaughter Cassie Smyth; daughter-in-law, Mary Pat Smyth; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Smyth, and four siblings: William O. Smith, Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Wirtz, Robert Elmer Jackson, and Charles Edward Jackson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second Street, New Freedom, PA. There will be a funeral service on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the New Freedom Cemetery.
