Stephen Joseph Gentile, Jr.

Stephen Joseph Gentile, Jr. passed away at age 66 on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

He grew up in Dundalk, Maryland, graduating from Patapsco High School, prior to learning the trade of plumbing. He achieved his Master Plumbing license in addition to numerous other certifications and licenses throughout his career. For 25 years he worked at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Towson in the facilities department where he made many lifelong friendships.

After leaving St. Joe’s, he was the owner of several commercial plumbing and construction companies, including G.A. Mechanical, Hydrotechnology and Silver Star Construction. Specializing in government and hospital work, Steve prided himself on bringing his technical knowledge, hard work ethic and building relationships. After running his own businesses for two decades he retired, opening his passion project, Cuz’s Corner, a pizza shop in Shrewsbury, PA.

Known to many who loved him as “Cuzzy,” Steve is survived by his wife Vicky (65), daughter Stefanie (38), son Stephen III (40) and three grandchildren; Adrianna (12), Audrey (12) and Stephen IV (8).

Steve always had a love for working on cars, riding motorcycles and coaching baseball. He will be greatly missed by many throughout his years coaching SYC youth baseball for his son and later in life, the Southern / Jefferson Titans baseball organization that would go on to win over 10 local championships.

“Cuzzy” was an avid dog lover, someone who always enjoyed a good story and had an infectious personality.  He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten by all those who he enjoyed sharing life with.

A public viewing will be held Monday July 17, from 6-8pm at Hartenstein Funeral Home, 24 N 2nd Street, New Freedom, PA 17349.
