Thomas L. Fogle

On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, Thomas L. Fogle, Sr., 83, passed away at Wellspan York Hospital, York, PA.He was the husband of Glenda F. (Wells) Fogle.Tom was born on January 26, 1936 in Baltimore to the late Walter M. and Virginia (Akehurst) Fogle.He graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School in 1954.Tom proudly served his country in the US Navy Reserves from 1953 to 1961.He was a printer for the Baltimore Sun Newspaper and was a member of their union until his retirement in 1999.He was also a member of the New Freedom VFW Post #7012.In his spare time, Tom’s passion was golfing. In addition to his loving wife, Tom is survived by 5 children, Thomas Fogle, Jr., Susan Plitt and husband Carl, David Fogle and wife Dona, Leigh Callaway, and Steve Fogle and wife Christine; 11 grandchildren, Kelli, Jeremy, Brandon, Kim, Blair, Brenda, Sarah, Stephanie, Jessica, Brincie, and Jackie; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 siblings, Walter Fogle, Jr. and wife Mary and Julia Ann James and husband Bob; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 1pm at SpiriTrust Lutheran of Shrewsbury, Zimmerman Clubhouse, 800 Bollinger Drive, Shrewsbury, PA 17361.Rev. Aaron Cope will officiate.
