Thomas E. “Tom” Jacoby, 80, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021. He was the loving husband of Judith “Judy” (Sanders) Jacoby, married 62 years. Born in Hanover, he was the son of the late Germanus Jacoby and Elda (Sowers) Mooney. In addition to his wife Judy, Tom is survived by his loving son, Terry Jacoby and his wife, Dawn; daughter in laws, Vicki and Rosemary; 9 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one great –great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Jacoby and loving sons Randy, Bill and Chris. Tom retired from Asplundh Tree Expert Company and Baltimore County Highways. He was a member of Hanover Eagles, National Riffle Assoc., New Freedom VFW Post 7012, Glen Rock American Legion Post 403, National Street Rod Association, and First Capital Cruisers Car Club. Tom was an avid hunter, fisherman, and street rod enthusiast winning over 100 awards for his 1940 Chevy. Tom was a gifted musician, participating as a member of numerous talented country bands. Tom thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings, and telling jokes and stories. Viewings will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349 and on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA 17349. A Funeral Liturgy will begin on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Joshua R. Cavender as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to: Wellspan York Cancer Center; 25 Monument Dr. Suite 194, York, PA 17403.
