Thomas Peter Ohliger

Thomas Peter Ohliger was born Dec. 5, 1936, in Queens, New York, the youngest of 5 children born to the late Albert and Sarah (Holdsworth) Ohliger. His 4 siblings have all predeceased him. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army as a cartographer (map-maker) from 1957 to 1960 with 2 ½ of those years being served in Germany, attaining the rank of Specialist 5th class. He is survived by his wife, Carole (Kiever) Ohliger, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on May 10th, and their 5 children: Michael Albert Ohliger, and his wife Martha; Steven Brian Ohliger; Carolyn Ann Johns, and her husband Michael; Robert John Ohliger, and his wife Lori; Thomas Edward Ohliger, and his wife Tricia; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren, with one on the way. There will be a viewing from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. There will be an additional opportunity for viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Grace Church, 473 Plank Road, New Freedom, PA 17349, with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
