Timothy E. Patterson

d. October 30, 2022

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, Timothy E. Patterson, loving husband, son, doggy-father, brother, godfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away at age 51.  His life did not come to an end with his death, and his family and friends take comfort knowing that he ran with a body restored, into the loving arms of the Father.

Tim was an Eagle Scout and followed in his father’s footsteps by leading a cub scout pack in the Loch Raven area.  As a teenager, he enjoyed many of the activities that his high school had to offer including Mock Trial, acting in Taming of the Shrew, and serving as an award winning Band Major for the Parkside Rams.  In his college years at Towson University he became active with Campus Crusade for Christ and served on a college missionary team to Turkey.

Tim reconnected with a friend from high school later in life, and in 2015 he and Mendy were married in a simple ceremony at the fire hall where children blew bubbles and guests were treated to rides on the fire engines.  Tim and Mendy enjoyed their years together attending concerts and riding local train excursions before Tim’s health limited their travels.  Tim was so thankful to have found a wife who graciously allowed the train collection to grow, and grow, and grow.

Tim was always drawn to the Hereford Zone where his grandfather farmed and his parents were raised.  He greatly enjoyed giving his nephew and nieces many rides on a wagon hooked up to the back of a John Deere tractor.  He loved to cut his grass, and in the summer he enjoyed evenings on the front porch with his favorite four legged companion, Riley.

Tim was an accomplished orator and lead several sermons at Hereford Faith and Life church where he also served for many years as a worship assistant and teen Sunday School leader.  After many health trials, Tim often spent his days devouring theology and sermons and leaning into the word of God.  His gratitude for life and for the saving grace of God was an inspiration to many.

The loss of Tim has left behind an enormous hole in the hearts of his beloved wife, Mendy Patterson, his parents Bruce and Susan Patterson, and Charles and Patricia Frederick, his sister Mandy Myrick and her husband Brian together with their children Brayden, Reagan, and Madison,  his stepbrother Michael Castrignano and his wife Dustielynn together with their son Jett, his beloved in laws Don and Bev Durham and brother in law Brett and his wife Julie together with their children, Kate, Ben, and Emily, and not least of all, his most precious Riley J Puppymonster. We live with the confidence that he was met at the gates of Heaven by many cherished friends and family members who went before him.
