Troy R. Faw

d. March 20, 2025

Troy Richard Faw of Stewartstown, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20. Born in N. Wilkesboro, NC, he was the son of the late Buck and Louise Faw. Troy is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Coyle) Faw, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, and his brother Roy Faw of Columbia, South Carolina.

Troy is also survived by his five children: Matthew Marsiglia (Donna), Laura Udzinski (Stephen), Elaine Green, Jon Faw (Erin), and Kimberly Miller (Jeff); his 18 grandchildren; his 14 great-grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Rebecca Green and son-in-law Robert Green.

Throughout his life, Troy was known for his dedication to, and love for his family, his dry wit and great sense of humor. He was a loyal friend with a work ethic beyond compare. A proud veteran, who served in the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After leaving the Air Force, he had a lengthy career as a Mainframe Equipment Installer for Western Electric, which eventually became Lucent Technologies. Troy was also actively involved in the CWA Union as a member and Union Rep during his employment. After his retirement, Troy volunteered in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for nearly 25 years.

Troy was a true NASCAR fan. He loved fast cars and auto racing. He loved that he was born, and his family has its roots where high-performance race cars started, in Wilkes County N.C., for running moonshine. Some will say this was the birthplace of fast cars and Stock Car Racing, that lead to NASCAR Racing.

Troy was an intelligent man with a great and infectious sense of humor. He also loved fishing and boating, enjoyed his time on the water, country music and watching Western movies. Most of all he loved the time he got to spend with his family. Always a smile on his face, but you could see the true joy in his eyes when the Grands and Great Grands came along…

Troy leaves behind a legacy of Love and cherished memories for all who were fortunate to know and love him…!
