Vergie B. Theis

Vergie B. Theis (79) passed away Friday, January 20, 2023. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Donald W. Poblett and Thelma May (George). Vergie was the beloved wife of the late William Theis.

Vergie loved travelling with her late husband, especially boat trips to Miller’s Island. She loved dancing, singing, playing cards and checkers, listening to music and visiting the VFW. Vergie was very happy-go-lucky, outgoing, and could make anyone laugh. She was friendly, and could always be found making new friends everywhere she went, as she loved everybody. She had a special place in her heart for her cats Samantha and Crystal.

Vergie is survived by 5 siblings, H. Marie Miller, Thelma Skopp, Marion Edwards, Albert Poblett, and Wayne Poblett; as well as her special friends, Bill and Gloria Miller, and Kathy Nordwall. Vergie is preceded in death by 2 siblings, Donald Poblett, and Grover Poblett; in addition to her parents and husband.

A public viewing will be held for Vergie Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 11am – 12pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. A funeral service will begin at 12pm. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery 7225 Eastern Ave., Baltimore, MD 21224.
