Verna W. (Mack) Ward, 71, of Stewartstown passed away on May 23, 2021. Verna was the wife of Paul C. Ward of Stewartstown, sharing 46 years of marriage. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of William and Genevieve M. (Urban) Mack. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children Debbie Grove and her husband Mike and Bill Ward and his wife Lindsey; a grandson Colin Grove; sister, Deb Zoller and her husband Terry; nieces and nephews: Madi Wenger and her husband Brandon, Michala Zoller, Lisa Stewart, Bobby Shape and Chris Shape; a great niece, Thea Wenger; and sister in law Pat Mack. She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, John William Mack, niece Rhonda Mack, sister-in-law, Joan Powers. Verna graduated from Sparrows Point High School; Class of 1968. She was a member of the former St. Paul (Mt. Pleasant) Lutheran Church. She started her career at Maryland National Bank, reaching vice president at Allfirst Bank after working at several other banks and finished her career in cash vault services at Dunbar Armored. She enjoyed collecting, including Longaberger Baskets and Lee Middleton Dolls. She liked to get her nails done and visits to the Casino with her husband. Her family meant everything to her and she adored her grandson Colin. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, June 2ndfrom 6:00 – 8:00pm and on Thursday, June 3rd from 9:00 – 11:00am at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc.; 19 S. Main St. Stewartstown, PA 17363. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Stewartstown, PA 17363. If attending, guests are required to wear a mask and social distance as appropriate.
