Vilma Louise Baldwin, age 90, passed away at her home peacefully with family at her bedside on March 19, 2021. Vilma was born in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Silas Daniel and Mary Ethel (Helfrich) McAllister. She was the loving wife of the late Gene Robert Baldwin, Sr. She was a devoted member of both St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, PA and St. Mary of the Assumption Church, MD. She is remembered by family and friends by her devotion to Our Lord and a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. She led a faith driven life, setting an example by her word, dignity and grace. Her children and grandchildren will forever remember, “Cleanliness is close to Godliness.’’ Vilma grew up in Hamden, MD. She recalled memories of a large extended family, summers by the water, and her mother’s ability to make a feast out of very little during the depression. Later in life she became a travel agent, and had the opportunity to travel extensively. If we were to ask one thing of each other in her memory it would be, “do a good turn towards someone random or in need.” Ephesians 4:32, “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Vilma will be missed by her three surviving children: Judy Lynn Suddoth, Gene Robert Baldwin and Kathy Dee Bailey and her husband Thomas E. Bailey, Sr.; 13 grandchildren: Lisa, Gary, Steven, Melissa, Thomas,Jr., Meghan, Ashley, Rachel, Dustin, Jonathan, Sarah, Joshua and Jesse; 27 great grandchildren;14 great-great grandchildren; and two siblings: Marilyn Shipley and Daniel McAllister. She was preceded in death by her two sons: Gary Wayne Kline, Sr. and Daniel Dee Baldwin; and son-in-law, Roy Suddoth. A Graveside service will be on Thursday, March 25th, at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery; 1021 St. Mary’s Rd., Pylesville, MD 21131. Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., Stewartstown is assisting with the services.All attendees will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
