Virginia A. Sheridan

Virginia A. Sheridan, 89, of New Oxford passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at Hanover Hospital. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Sheridan who passed away in 2006. Born in Lineboro, MD, she was a daughter of the late Maurice E. and Emma L. (Monath) Black. Virginia was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, loved flowers, word searches and spending time with her grandchildren who made her smile. She was a member of Emory United Methodist Church in New Oxford. She is survived by her six children: Judith A. Smith of New Oxford, Nancy K. Thomas and companion, Darnell of Havre de Grace, MD, Joanne K., wife of Shannon Schmuck of Dover, Deanna D., wife of Dennis Tracy of Fawn Grove, David V.D. Sheridan of Loretta and Timothy L. Sheridan, husband of Deborah of Hanover; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; one sister Catherine Thomas of York New Salem. Virginia was preceded in death by two brothers Victor and Louis Black and one sister Gladys Gumpper. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11 am from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, with Pastor Brian Doyle officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York. A viewing will be held from 10 am until the time of her service at the funeral home.
