Wayne Douglas Bryant, 79, of York, PA, peacefully passed away with his daughters by his side on Sunday, April 20, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Neva A. (Cummings) Bryant. He is also survived by his daughters Angela D. Houck (Kevin) and Laura M. Bella (Josh); seven grandchildren Kailey, Kevin, Adam, Kaleb, Gabriel, Samuel, and Adeline; siblings Lyle Bryant and Sharon Pardew; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett H. and Dorothy F. (Mowrey) Bryant, and his daughter Rebecca Susan.

Wayne was born in Baltimore, MD. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving as a hospital corpsman during Vietnam. He received his bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Maryland in 1973. He was a Master Mason with St. John’s Lodge No. 1, A.F. & A. M. in Portsmouth, RI. He ended his career at Wellspan York Hospital as a Physical Therapist. He enjoyed restoring old cars and exploring history. He was a kind, generous, man of God, who was loved by many. Wayne had a great sense of humor with a contagious laugh and never met a stranger and was a fighter to the very end.

A public viewing will be held from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, PA, with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Interment will be private at Lorraine Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland.
