On Friday, March 2, 2018, William Alexander Kirkpatrick, Jr., 86, passed away at home with family by his side.He was the loving husband of Ruth “Ruthie” Elizabeth (Turnbaugh) Kirkpatrick. Born on September 25, 1931 in Elkton, MD to the late Ethel Mae (Weible) and William Alexander Kirkpatrick, Sr. William was a mail contractor for years and then retired from AAI, Inc. in Cockeysville, MD.He was a member of the AARP.He loved going to auctions prior to having a stroke in 2006, enjoyed buying and fixing clocks and working around cars. He is survived by his wife, Ruthie; daughter Debbie Kirkpatrick Cain and husband Todd; grandsons, Brandon and Brody Cain; sister, Mary Hoover and nieces, Marte Reever and Karen Pentz; as well as several cousins.Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Ethel Perry Scotten; and a nephew, Wayde Miller.William loved his familydearly.He was very proud of his grandsons and what they have accomplished in their lives so far.They were his pride and joy. Public viewing will be from 6pm to 8pm on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, where a funeral service will be held at 12pm on Monday, March 12.Interment will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 105 S. Main St., Shrewsbury, PA 17361 or the American Diabetes Foundation, Southeastern Pennsylvania Office, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
