William H. "Billy" Strine, Jr.

William H. “Billy” Strine, Jr., 81, of Glen Rock passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at home. He was the lifelong companion of Julia A. “Judy” Miller. Born in Baltimore, he was a son of the late William H. Strine, Sr. and Arlene Mae (Cumor) Strine. Billy as he was known by many was a mechanic insulator with the Asbestos Worker’s Local 23 Baltimore/Washington for 50 years. He was an avid horseman who owned, trained and rode horses. He was a member of Rogers Rangers, Valley Lea Riding Club and the League of Maryland Horses. Billy loved people and was always there for others in need. In addition to his lifelong companion Judy, he is survived by a daughter Denise, wife of Paul Wienecke; three grandchildren Paul, Matthew and Sarah Wienecke; one brother John H. Strine; one uncle Roland E. Cumor, Sr. and wife Patricia; nephew Ronald Cumor and wife Debbie and numerous cousins who knew him as Uncle Billy. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 16, 2021 at 5PM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom with Rev. George M. Schneider officiating. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Margaret E. Moul Home, 2050 Barley Rd., York, PA 17404 in his memory.
