Wilma A. Anstine (Blankenbeckler)

Wilma Anna Anstine, 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in WI, following a brief illness. She was born December 5, 1921 in MD, the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Long) Blankenbeckler. She was raised and went to school in PA. She was married to Everett O. Anstine, Jr. in 1941 while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force.In 1953, during one of Everett’s tours, they moved to WI. She ran the Post Office at Truax Field until it closed. She and Everett retired to Lodi, WI and she lived there until ten years ago, when she moved to DeForest, WI to be near her daughter. Wilma and her family camped every weekend, and she enjoyed her family and family gatherings. She was a collector of anything strawberry, and loved life in general. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Jackie Needham; grandchildren, Kimberly Gourley, Kevin (Sue) Needham; great-grandchildren, Andy (Kayla) Lindner, R.J. Gourley, Michael and Amanda Needham; great-great-grandchildren, Leon Sobek, J.J. Noll; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; sister, Bertha; and a grandson, Timothy Pugh. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 South Main Street, Stewartstown. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Bel Air Memorial Gardens in Bel Air, MD. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
