Clyde A. Morris, 94, of Freeland, MD died Monday, April 30, 2018 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, Shrewsbury. He was the husband of the late Virginia B. (Brauer) Morris to whom he was married 64 years at the time of her passing. Clyde was born March 27, 1924, son of the late Ernest A. and Edith V. (Simpson) Morris. He was a 1941 graduate of Sparks High School, a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy, receiving the American Theater Ribbon & Victory Medal. Clyde was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He was owner of Morris Meadows Recreation Farm from 1970-2010. It is currently known as Merry Meadows. He created Morris Meadows Museum in 1997 and was well known for his community support and offering many activities at no cost for reunions, fire companies and veterans events such as the Veterans Appreciation Day in November each year. He also started the Freeland Historical Society. He is survived by a daughter, Lois Ann Reithlingshoefer and her husband Lenny;sons, Charles E. Morris and his wife Sandy, Robert A. Morris and his wife Carol;grandchildren, Charles E. Morris, Jr., Lee A. Reithlingshoefer, Lynn A. Bryson, Josh R. Morris, Robin M. Newell;great grandchildren, Ethan, Parker, Maverick, Jack & Leah. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 3 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St. New Freedom and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 20901 Mt. Zion Rd. Freeland, MD. The service will begin 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis Schulze officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military rites by Parkton American Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church 20901 Mt. Zion Rd.
